TANK STRAPPING TABLE (TST)
In order for TICAL to calculate the volume data for the Inventory Table, it must have the Tank Strapping Table (TST) information for each tank. This information must be supplied by the Customer. There are two format choices in supplying this information: 1) electronic (Excel) or 2)non-electronic (textual via hard-copy or file text copy). In both cases, the assumption is that
the strapping is linear, if not you will have to contact us with the peculiarities of your tank or tanks.
Electronic Format
If the Customer supplies the TST information in the
proper electronic format then there is only a nominal basic setup charge and price per tank that covers our review and conversion to final TICAL file format. See Table 1.
The "proper" electronic format that qualifies you for the lower Table 1 cost is if the data
per tank is supplied as an Excel file(s) with one column containing the level information in floating point format and a second column with the corresponding gross volume data in barrels in floating point format for each level. See Figure 1 for an example of proper (acceptable) electronic TST format (you can click on the Figure for a larger view).
The level data must be in decimal inches as shown in Figure 1 (4 decimal places for 1/16" resolution, 5 decimal places for 1/32" resolution, etc.) The gross volume must be in barrels with the highest resolution that your strapping tables provide. The lower your resolution, the lower the accuracy of the returned GVOL/NVOL calculations that TICAL will provide.
The Excel format used by many tank strapping services is not sufficient for submittal to us as is. While it is a fine electronic format for storage and making hard-copy documents of the strappings, for our electronic purposes it contains a lot of extraneous textual information plus it uses multiple columns across (sometimes 16) for a given block of rows representing 6-inches of data with 1/16-inch resolution, and then it will repeat that block format for the next 3-feet of data. If this is the "electronic" format of your tank strapping data, you will need to edit the data and restructure it as described above.
When the Customer provides the data in electronic format, the Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information supplied.
The TST Entry charge is a one time fee and does not increment with the number of TICAL copies ordered. For example, if you order 4 copies of TICAL, then you are charged for only one total TST Entry charge, not 4. If you order further copies of TICAL for the same tanks at a later time, then there will not be an extra TST Entry charge.

Electronic Format
Non-Electronic Format
If the Customer supplies the TST information in textual format, Asteroid must manually enter this data into the proper format for electronic reading. There will be an extra charge for this service. This fee is based on the number of tanks the Customer wants TICAL to use, the strapping height of each tank, and the corresponding strapping table level incrementation for each tank (i.e., the total number of entries that must be made. See Table 2 for the cost for this service.
Putting tank strapping data into electronic format can be a tedious and error prone process, but you may find it more cost effective for your facility if you have someone in your organization do this process for you or possibly contract it out.
When the Customer provides the data in non-electronic format, the Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information supplied, but Asteroid Scientific then assumes the responsibility for the accuracy of the conversion of the data to electronic format.
This is a one time fee and does not increment with the number of TICAL copies ordered. For example, if you order 4 copies of TICAL, then you are charged for only one total TST Entry charge, not 4. At a later time, if you order further copies for the same tanks, then there still will not be an extra TST Entry charge.
Be sure to enter the maximum "strapping" height in the table above, i.e., the last level value that you have for a strapping figure with volume, not the maximum height of the overall tank if larger!
If the strapping increment is one-inch, you may enter 1 and 1 in the two boxes or any other two equal numbers (16, 16)

PGL
PGL is a software program that works on a PDA device containing the Microsoft Pocket PC OS (Operating System) or later versions of thereof. The Customer is responsible for purchasing is own PDA device(s) and loading the PGL program onto it and configuring the tank farms.
If the Customer so desires, Asteroid Scientific may provide to the Customer a PDA device with PGL already loaded and configured. If this option is desired, the Customer will need to contact us directly via email or telephone for specifics and additional cost.

TANK INFORMATION
Whether ordering TICAL or PGL, the Customer must supply other tank related information that becomes part of the information available through the program such as the Tank Farm names and what tanks are associated with each one, the fuel type per tank, the maximum fill level per tank, the tape correction data for PGL, etc.
When an order is received by Asteroid Scientific for either TICAL or PGL, we will send you a form that outlines the specifics required for that particular program. Either hard-copy or a text document such as MS Word is acceptable for the Tank Information.
There is no charge for us entering this data into the program configuration files. But it is the Customer's responsibility to acquire this data and the Customer is responsible for its accuracy.
This "Tank Information" is in addition to the Tank Strapping Table data required for TICAL.

UPGRADE POLICY
We provide free upgrades to any product that is purchased within six months of the release of an upgrade version. After that, if you desire to upgrade we provide a discounted price for those desiring an updated version.
Updates to a version (minor changes), prior to the release of an upgrade (major changes, additions), are available free of charge (if downloaded) for your initial purchase.
